Residential solar panels

Effective July 21, 2026Version 1.0

Turn roof space into a measured energy resource

Residential solar begins with the home, not a panel count. A useful design considers annual usage, seasonal patterns, roof planes, shade, local weather, service voltage, utility rules, and future loads. Panel wattage is only one input.

What a complete design includes

A provider should identify the module, inverter architecture, racking, attachment method, electrical protection, monitoring, and estimated production assumptions. Ask which parts are optional, who performs engineering, and how changes discovered onsite affect the proposal.

Grid-tied, hybrid, and storage-ready

Grid-tied solar normally turns off during an outage unless compatible backup equipment is installed. A hybrid design can combine solar and storage, but supported loads and duration depend on equipment quantity and electrical design. Compare systems or start the free assessment.
